Okay for now
Order was shipped very quickly.I will keep Item. Advertised hanging hardware and swivel not included. Chair could easily fray, cotten ends are only taped, not knotted. No way chair could be converted to 7 foot hammock as advertised. I should have read advertisement closer. I could have gotten 100% cotten chair for less. This ad didn't state the material used.

Two days after buying this swing i found just the exact thing I was looking for and contacted Don, the seller, about a refund. Even though it was a Sunday, he got right back to me and said he'd make every effort to cancel the order, even though it ships direct from his supplier. Cheap Price, Cheap Quality
I bought this hammock in Feb' 05 during a sale at amazon. (~$52)Overall I thought the hammock was ok at first, though it stretched a great deal.I bought the stand that goes with it, and even on the highest chain link, it sits very low once you get in.I'm not a huge guy, but I DEFINATELY would not put two people in it.Now it is 10 months down the road, and the hammock frayed and snapped.I used it frequently in the beginning, but only a handful of times the last 5 monthes.The only good thing about it hanging low, was that my fall was only a foot, instead of a few feet.Any idea if there is a warranty?

2nd hammock
I had first bought a hammock almost exactly like this one except it came with 2 hooks with wood-screw ends and 2 chains. It came from the "O" for over $80 over a year ago. After children excessively swinging on it consistently, the ropes had been naturally sawed off by the wood supports where the holes were made for rope access. When it had to be replaced, I chose this one. It was almost identical to the last, but did not come with the extra hardware, hammock only, but only cost $50 (w/ super saver shipping w/ i truely appreciate). this time I tightened up the knots before use, which I recommend to the buyer. ... Comfortable and Sturdy
My family and I are quite happy with this hammock. It is comfortable and sturdy. Since it doesn't come with the hanging hardware, future buyers make sure to order it from amazon at the same time ("HAMMOCK KIT - SCREWS" byAmerican Science & Surplus). Otherwise you might find yourself on a long search. The only other place where we came across it was Wal Mart.

standard mayan hammock, nothing special
I looked at several colorful mayan hammocks on Amazon and elsewhere. I got the impression, which was incorrect, that this hammock was larger and had the necessary hardware included. I should have selected one of the other less expensive ones.

This Hammock is made for a big man....
I ordered this for my dad for christmas. I was worried that it wouldn't fit him because he is a large man, but thought what the heck I'll use it if he can't. I opened the box and I wasn't sure it looked like a sack of ropes. Then I began unfolding, and unfolding, and unfolding and before long the thing was stretched at least 14 feet across my kitchen. The loops are just great and seem so strong. The only drawback was its not very soft but i guess it wouldn't be all that sturdy made out of chenille would it. Wonder of wonder! I love my hammock!
I love my hammock. I actually have 2 now, and they are both in my backyard. I like the white because it goes well with my yard, and sometimes with the multi colored ones you never know what you're going to get. It is also extremely comfortable. If you combine this with the smell of cut grass and a cool breeze and I think you may have just found the key to life.

not an all weather swing
I purchased this swing, the first one that i received had a defective weaving, the cords came apart. I got a replacement, since then i have had the swing out and have barely used it, this summer when i tried to sit in it, the rope gave away and i fell down. Note that this swing was barely sat in.

My parents like it.
I gave this as a gift to my Mom...she loves it and says she can lay back in it like a hammok. My Dad has also tried it. They had it put up on a tree in less than an hour after they recieved it from UPS. Mom says she can take it down and put it up easily without Dad's help. When a storm hits, this is a good idea. After visiting the folks,I find that it It fits me(at 6' 2" and 275 lbs) I can now rate it five stars.dispite the thin(looking) ropes, this thing could fit a circus elephant it's so strong(Hehe).

Kids love it
We've had the hammock for a month, now.I hung it between two trees.We use it for relaxing (adults should lie diagonally for the most comfort), and even as a big swing for the kids.We've never tried two adults at a time, but one adult and one kid fit just fine.And, kids can hang onto it easily to be safe while swinging.My daughter loves to pretend she's a butterfly in a chrysalis by wrapping the sides around her.The colors and weave are nice-looking.I'm happy with it!

Did i hang it wrong???
I bought mine on Cozumel and hung it when i got home.But when you get into it, it feels like you're lying on a flat board, the sides dont go up around you, and it feels like if you were to turn or shift around, you'd just fall out of it (it's a one person hammock). If I did hang it without doing something additional to it (i just hung it from the loops on the ends), please tell me how to fix it! Thanks!

Mayan hammocks rule!
I lived for two years on the Yucatan peninsula and slept in nothing but these hammocks. I personally think that if you sleep in them right they are more comfortable than beds! There's a trick to sleeping or resting in them -- you don't lie in them like a regular hammock (you'd feel like a banana!)... you lie in them diagonally, and if you get it right you won't even need a pillow.Read more

Crummy Chair Cushion
I purchased two cushions to use on small chairs.When the cushions I arrived, I could hardly believe how small they were, smaller than the description stated.In addition to the small size, the cushions had a lot of stuffing and seemed more like volleyballs than chair cushions.

The name on this item should be "pillow". It is much too small for a cushion. They need to change the discription to pillow or cushion for your head. I wish I had spent more time reading the whole page on this item before I ordered it. Lesson learned!

Great buy for its price!
It took a long while to get this one, but it is entirely worth the wait. This hammock is wide/long and gets a high score for comfort. One thing I didn't know was that the hanging kit (hooks/chains) for this hammock has to be purchased separately (costs about $15). Despite that, I have to say that it is a great buy for its price.

Too bad it doesn't come with Mai Tai mix
I just got mine, and love it! My old rope hammock had holes the size of chain-link fencing. The weave an this hammock is small enough that you can toss a penny onto it without the penny falling through the holes. This makes it vastly more comfortable (by distributing the weight). It's like the difference between flannel and corduroy. Love this!

Not what I was hoping for
I just got this product this afternoon.It was much larger and heavier than I had expected, and would not fit in the place on my porch I had planned to put it.It seems to be about six feet across and is much too tall.

This is a very pretty and soft hammock, but because doesn't have any crossbars to keep it open, it encloses around you when you lie down in it.

Not comfortable, doesn't hold up to weather...
Hammock is ok quality, and a decent price, but it isn't the most comfortable.You feel like you're slumped into a sling, and you need large trees or posts to tie it to.If you want a comfortable hammock, or you want to use a stand, get hammock with wood bars.I bought one from ExoticHammocks for about $50 and gave away my Amazona.Also, look for a hammock with nylon or polyester.Cotton hammocks rot and fade.

For the price this hammock is 6 starts.I mean, when you look around and see prices ranging in the 150's, to only drop just 40 makes this baby an easy sell.It has so far been a delight to lie in and with my newly purchased Tiki torches ...and some starving wannabe actors chained to my back porch I feel just like I am in Survivor.

Terrific Quality!
I bought the Bossa Nova for my wife over 7 years ago.We love it and it is still as comfortable as ever.We leave it outside on a 2nd story balcony and it still has held up(always in the shade).This is great as a wedding gift.Perfect for 2 people, maybe even 3?It is very nice to look at as well.

One negative point about the hammock
I rated this hammock with four stars. Overall I really like my hammock. I like the feel of the hammock, the size of the hammock, and the nice crochet art work. I rated this hammock with four stars due to the fact it has no spreaders. I would like this hammock even more if it had spreaders.
