Cheap storage bench
Thisstorage bench was fairly easy to put togther. We got 3 years out of it before...it just started to fall apart. The sides are just stapled together. When you try to put it back together the wood splits. The hydraulic piece, that is connected to the lid and the left side panel, blew the whole side out. There's no way to secure it without splitting all the other pieces.

Good size for storing misc. gardening supplies & large bags of birdseed.Relatively easy to assemble.All parts were included. It will need a coating that will repel sunrays, so it will keep it's color & not age to grey. Nice product for the money.

I read the other reviews before I ordered this storage bench, and figured I'd risk it.I had no problems connecting the backs and sides (the holes all appeared to be properly drilled, and the bolts& connecting devices all worked.Then I tried to attach the lid.I attached the hinges to the lid, then attempted to attach the lid to the body.Uh oh, here I've run into the same problem as most of the other reviewers --- the pre-drilled screw holes for one of the hinges were off by at least half an inch.Now I'll have to drill new pilot holes.What a hassle.If this works, the bench will be acceptable.If not, what a pain. ... Good for me.What I wanted.Worth the price.
I had just one screw comming thru the seat.No problem. I just backed it out a little.I glued all the slats, tightened all the screws, glued all the joints, chamfered the legs, installed spacer-feet to keep the legs dry, and wiped it down with 50-50 turps and linsead oil.Now it will last forever and it is a part of me.I like the natural and varied wood colors.After all, this in an outdoor bench... think casual and earthy.

Serviceable but don't expect more
The well known phrase "you get what you pay for" certainly applies to this item.It's perfectly serviceable and is quite attractive but the wood is clearly of the cheapest quality and shows signs of splintering and wearing upon arrival.For example, the notches for adjusting the head of the lounge do not work smoothly and you need to give it a hand so to speak to help it settle into position.Notthe end of the world but just know in advance that this is not a high quality product but certainly fine for knock-around.

Not a bad little glider for the price. It was a little smaller than I had invisioned, but it will work. It was easy to put toether acording to my Husband but He did have to do a little alteration as one part didn't line up. He also added that the wood that was pieced together was done so in the correct way and it would add to the durability. I guess the bottom line is you get what you pay for and in this case , and in this day and age it was worth the money.

I agree with many of the reviewers who noted that the assembly instructions for this glider could use improvement (though I was able to put it together by myself in about an hour with little difficulty) and the overall quality of the wood is only average.But, that said, ours has held up to two years of steady use on a covered porch with no noticeable problems.The glider mechanism is still very smooth, and the wood is not showing any stress or strain.Bottom line, if you want a perfect, solid wood glider you should expect to pay quite a bit more.But for the price, this is a perfectly fine bench. ... One Great Chair
I purchased 2 of these last year.There are lots of wooden chairs and other furniture out there but few made with a wood anyone can pronounce.Since I am a woodworker and live in Oregon, I knew ahead of time I would treat this chair so it will retain its color and last in the rain.Any type of clear wood deck sealer will do and the TRICK to having a lasting chair is to place a small amount of "liquid nails" in each joint before screwing it all together (this chair does require assembly but it is EZ).If you seal the wood and secure the joints, this chair should last many years.I still love mine and they look great and because of the liquid nails...there are no creaks or movement whatsoever so I don't have to worry when my "larger" friends sit in them ;-)...buy them now...they are well worth it!!!

My patio is filled with American Woods furniture. Last year, I bought four of these sturdy cedar chairs, as well as a matching table, chaise lounge, and serving cart.

Just from looking at the picture I can tell that this chair is made from Redwood and is constructed with "Mortice and Tennon" joints. A very solid method of construction. American Woods furniture
American Woods furniture is great. Unlike similar furniture by other makers, American Woods uses bolts in the assembly of the piece rather than wooden pegs which shrink and become brittle over the years causing the piece to come apart. As the wood shrinks the bolts can be tightened. I love the look as well as the comfortable sitting. (I have two chairs as well as the table.)

Poor quality product - BEWARE
I bought two of these and the cedar storage bench - both were mistakes. When I tried to assemble these, two things happened. First, the preassembled sides, apparently with only under-used glue and no screws - fell apart. I had to add glue and provide my own screws to reassemble. In addition, in 1 or 2 of each leg that I tried to fasten the base with the wheels, as I tapped the wheel base into the wood so it stayed in place when you lifted the rolling trellance - the leg(s) split. What poor engineering and quality. Stay away from this company's products.

Unfortunately I am talking about the quality, not the price.I ordered four of these and three showed up with broken parts.While the manufacturer was very responsive in sending out replacements, it hardly bodes well for longevity - especially outside where I was hoping to use them.The staple construction is flimsy at best, and the cedar they are using might as well be balsa wood.If your lucky enough to get one with the pieces intact, I wouldn't bet on it lasting more than a season outdoors.

better than we had hoped for
we researched planters and trellises online and in garden centers around here and were really excited to find this combined one. It looked better than most and the price was unbelievable (we did buy it on Amazon special with a free gift) but the best part was when they (we bought two)arrived. Each came with the glue and screws for assembly. One person was able to assemble one planter trellis in fifteen to twenty minutes using a screw driver only. (The second is unpacked and ready to go...)It seems sturdy and is actually better looking than the picture because the wood is really nice. We had originally planned to use it to line an outdoor walkway but the removable wheels on the bottom are making us wish we had a room that needed a divider - this piece of "furniture" looks great indoors too. ... killer deal, but inconsistent quality
This has been the best deal I have made with Amazon. $40 shipped to my door, and arrived on 12/23/04! All parts were accounted for. Assembly was easy (screwdrivers). Table seems solid, no wobbles. I am not using the S hooks for the lattice. I didn't want to risk damaging it.

These chairs seemed to be a good price, and with free shipping we decided to take a chance.Boy, are we dissapointed.We've gotten splinters in our hands, butts and the backs of our legs, the chairs have literally split on the legs and backrests, and the matching table has also led to some casualties!I want my money back!!!DON"T buy these chairs!!Better to sit on a (safe) folding chair!!

Decent Product, Great Price
COnsidering the price of these chairs (130 for 2) plus free shipping, they can't be beat with a stick.I mean top value for dollar.Take price out of the equation and they're still pretty darn good.No, they're not teak or other top end wood, but they are a nice cedar and have a pleasing deisgn.Quality was pretty good, in fact 95% on these chairs (less on the potters table I also bought).The only problem was that one drill hole didn't go all the way thru and thus when opened up by a scrediver, it ripped/splinted the wood a bit.No biggie and may even add character.Anyway, the hardware is average (brass screws and wahsers), and the wood is "combined" (not from one piece), but still the product is above average withotu price and outstanding with price.

"Glider" ? Chaise Lounge
As far as assembly goes it's fairly easy, maybe an hour.Comfort is good as long as one puchases a decent cushion. I have one complaint, and that would be with design. Money better spent elsewhere
I bought this swing at the end of last season at a highly reduced price.I thought for the money, the quality was OK.Or so I thought. A great wedding gift!
I purchased one for myself and one for a wedding gift.I just finished assembling mine... a couple of hours alone.It's quite easy to assemble. I was missing only one washer which will be a few cents to replace.I believe that it was an extreme bargain for the amount I paid on a Friday Sale Day Special.I absolutely adore the bench and I envision many intimate conversations in the garden.Let's hope that the newlyweds enjoys theirs as much!

Sweet, smooth silence
This swing was a belated Mother's day gift to my mother. I passed on other models in stores because they were too big for the space it would occupy in my garden or too squeaky when in use. I decided to take a chance on this one and am glad I did. The swing set was delivered within a week and I assembled within three hours with only the help of my cats (would've been quicker if I didn't suffer a momentary brain-freeze while attaching the arms to the seat.) It operates smoothly and silently with no hitches. The wood is a lovely honey color though a bit tacky from whatever it's been treated with. The reason the swing doesn't rate a "5" in my estimation is because a few pieces of the wood were dented in transit. Also, I found the canopy material somewhat flimsy and the directions for constructing the canopy not entirely clear. 3 Months Later...It Fell Apart
My beautiful garden arbor that I've had only since June finally collapsed into 3 pieces. As you might have read in my previous review, my husband and I fortified the shoddy construction with additional screws and glue. It just really couldn't withstand the Texas heat. I'm not sure what happened to the thing, but it started rotting on the top/center about 2 weeks after we set it up. Then, the side rails split and finally broke on one side. And it was just sitting there! No more big storms, just the Texas heat. Maybe it melted the glue? Who knows, but my money did not entirely go to waste. I've cut off the top on one side and saved both planters. They are still in one piece. My new advice, pass on this arbor

Very nice design, needs improvement in workmanship
We bought one for a gift for around [price], put it together. Some minor defects, but liked it so much we bought one for ourselves for around [price]. Box was opened at seam. Screws were missing and parts were broken. Decided it was less touble to repair it than to send it back. Seems to be OK. Now price is ...? Wish we would have gotten the others at this price.

Even better than I expected!
I ordered 2 and kept my fingers crossed...the price was so reasonable, I thought I may be disappointed. But the chairs are wonderful! They are fairly light-weight so they can easily be moved around the deck, yet the are well-made and well-balanced. They will accommodate a cushion if I so choose to put one on. I purchased them to look out over the yard to the pool. I could't be happier! (Shipping was super quick too!)

They Finally Got Here!
The two chairs I ordered took close to two months to arrive. There is quite a bit of assembly required and the directions could use more detail and drawings to clarify instructions for those of us who are unfamiliar with woodwork. The upper slat on one ottoman had come off and I did my best to glue it on (screw holes were stripped). However, I do like the look of them and I think they were a good buy. Before you purchase, do some shopping around to make sure.....and plan on waiting.

Great product, just one problem!
This is a great product at a great price.The only problem is that I received one damaged and have been unable to replace it because it is not availbale in the stores or on the web!

Quality Questionable
The chairs are a great price and set up is easy, but the quality is questionable.Had to return a set because the seat splintered and then broke. Great for gifts.
These cedar planters are good for what they are to be used for...to put potted plants in. I ordered eight with some to be given as Christmas or housewarming gifts. But, since they're pretty cool looking, I think I'll keep them all for my patio and house plants. Will buy more for gifts later. The cost is about right; ... After all, they're just some pieces of stained cedar wood that YOU have to put together...which, in itself, is not very difficult. However, out of the eight that I ordered, one was defective. I returned it several weeks ago and have not had the cost credited back to me yet ... . Overall, I am pleased with these planters and, like I say, may order some more for gifts. The free shipping sometimes offered will be the clincher, though.

I got two of these and will be ordering two more. They come in pieces, but are very easily assembled. The first one took 10 minutes and the second only 5. Exactly as pictured. Easy to assemble. Best used to display potted plants. Otherwise, add screen to the bottom to avoid losing soil through drainage gap.
