This Fireplace really burns, even without propane
I recently received this outdoor gas fireplace as a gift. We decided to use this on our patio while entertaining friends. About a half hour or so into using this pit we all noticed the pit emitting thick black smoke. We turned off the gas and unplugged the propane quickly and the pit continued to burn. A hose was quickly dragged over to put out the fire-pit. My house was filled with the smoke. The bottom pan on the foreplace appeared to be the problem, burning a triangle shape into the pan. The pit was returned the next day and Char Broil was notified andsent pictures. In my opionion, this is a hazard and should be recalled but that ball is now in the hands of Char-Broil and the govt. Never again will a char broil product be bought in this household.

A great addition to our patio and hot tub!
We enjoy this outdoor fireplace very much on our patio and near our hot tub. I built a rolling foundation with caster wheels on our outdoor fireplace so it can be easily moved around to different locations on our patio. The advantage of this is the instant fire and moderate heat with absolutely no smoke! Assembly took a couple of hours. I also had a defective valve but I called Charbroil Customer Service and they sent me a replacement at no charge. I recommend this product.

Gaze Into the Fire...
Be forewarned, it takes 2 1/2 hours for someone very handy to assemble this. The directions are fairly complex and in a few crucial spots you have to guess, since the pictures aren't always clear.

Good to have...HARD to clean!
I bought this for my husband who loves to grill fish and fruits like pineapple. It is just the right size for our standard grill, but is HARD to clean! I have to say, even after using Pamspray for grilling, I was still scrubbing with Brillo for quite a while to get everything clean. Anyone have any ideas to make that job easier? Mixed feelings
I had seen this fireplace for sale elsewhere but Amazon had the best price and free shipping so I decided to buy it, despite reading some negative experiences of previous buyers. My experience was mixed. I received the fireplace with only PART of the assembly bolts. Once side of the fireplace had what I would call a crimp in it where the paint had come off. Near as I can tell, it probably happened not in shipping but perhaps in a warehouse as the product moved from manufacturer to storage. Anyway, I decided to return it and get another one instead of waiting 2 weeks for the bolts from Charbroil like one other customer. Here's where the positive part of the experience came. I went to Amazon customer service page and clicked a link for someone to call me. My phone rang IMMEDIATELY! I spoke with a very pleasant woman who promptly ordered another fireplace at no cost and free shipping. I got an email with a link to the returns page and was able to request UPS to pick up the other item so I did not have to deal with carrying it to the UPS Store. I received my other fireplace in 2 days WITH all the necessary bolts. However, this fireplace had a similar crimp in one of the sides, but otherwise it is fine. Since we like the design of the fireplace, we are planning on hammering out the crimp and re-painting that part. So in summary, Charbroil has some manufacturing issues with this unit, but Amazon rocks for customer service.

Nice unit, damaged when recieved
I just recieved my Trentino fireplace.I recieved it in a pretty beat up cardboard box with lots of extra tape on it.This makes me believe it was opened before, or even returned before.When I opened it up screws and nuts fell from the box.Although they were all in there, they were just loose in the box.I thought, good everything will be alright.Well, the large base has a 2-3" dent in it that caused the paint to chip away.I put it together to see what it looked like and decided it wasn't worth the hassel of returning it and waiting for another one.The fireplace functions well.Like another review said, the removable screens don't firmly attach to the fireplace.It looks nice sitting far out in our yard with some adirondack chairs around it so I'm happy with it.I am just not pleased with Charbroil's flimsy packaging and the fact that Amazon would send such a beat up box with loose parts in it.My first bad experience with Amazon.

Perfect for the Rookie Smoker
I got this grill last year as a father's day gift. I'd never smoked any meat in my life but have been a grill-man for a looong time. This smoker makes it easy. I've done ribs, brisquet, pork steaks, chicken. All turned out great, that brisquet especially! Make sure you cure the inside of the grill before cooking anything in it. There are instructions in the box. Also, if your model doesn't come with the built-in thermometer, make sure you order one from the char-broil website. Using a standard oven thermometer wastes time and precious heat.

Not as Advertised!
This basket is NOT stainless steel as advertised.It is merely chrome plated.I returned it immediately and have been dinged for return shipping costs and other miscellaneous fees as the 'error was not our fault'.Amazon is continuing to advertise this item as something it is not despite being alerted to the discrepancy by other consumers.I believe that qualifies this error as being entirely their fault.This is not the level of customer service I have come to expect and rely upon in my dealings with Amazon.

CHEAP CHROME - Not a Universal Fit
I also ordered this based on the description of "stainless steel" and was disappointed to receive a chrome-plated product. Worse yet, it doesn't even fit the Char-Broil Universal Rotisserie attachment I have for my grill.

Works Great For Me
I bought this grill pre-assembled at HD for memorial day and I think it works great.It has 4 adjustable burners, so that the heat can be directed at different parts of the grill, it has a rack so that the meat can be taken off the grill, but still be kept warm or still cook at a lower heat.All you have to do is turn on the canister, turn the knob and it's ready to go.I will never go back to charcoal again.The consturction is not as good as some of the other units that I looked at, but when I did the cost benefit analysis, this one was the winner.

Okay first things first. Fair, but to many options at same price
I would not purchase this set again.The spatula is nice but the tongs can be difficult to use.The tongs normal open position is not very large, which can make it difficult to get around foods such as chicken.The tongs have no teeth.Without teeth you can easily slide them under your food, but with no teeth it is difficult to maintain a firm grip on that food.The quality of the set is good.The stainless steel seems to be of a good grade.The spatula and tong handles are stamped.This stamping process leaves two lips that are bent downward.The lips seem to collect food in such a way that makes them not entirely easy to clean.Overall, not a bad set. ... Charbroil grill
a year ago we bought a performance series and was very happy with it until a week ago when upon lighting it the fire spread out of the pit area and melted the controls.Char broil was unconcerned and indicated that did not sell replacement parts.No comments whatsoever on the safety.It seems that replaceing the grill on a yearly basis is expected at Charbroil.In the past we have used Weber and got ten years from the grill.I would look at the Webers

Regulator lasted a month -- customer service terrible
This seemed like a wonderful grill, but the regulator (which keeps gas from leaking) failed after about a month.Unlike other grills, the Charbroil regulator has to be purchased as part of the full burner assembly (over $100, while other grill manufacturers sell just the regulator and tube, for about $20).The regulator's not covered by their warranty, either.Customer support has been terrible, with "communication" only coming through Charbroil's FAQ's on the Web.Fortunately, there are enough other Charbroil owners with similar problems who have written on the Web about this problem.I will never buy a Charbroil product again.This has all been so terribly disappointing, because I've wanted to support a good U.S. company -- but Charbroil's engineering and customer support is reminding me of the big three automakers in the 1980s.

Great Product at a Great price
I have been looking at grilles for over a year now, i had to retire my trusty Quickset. for all the features, size and quality, this one cant be beat. Assembly was very extensive, but if you have ever put anything together that was more complicated then a pizza box, you can put this together. Packaging wasnt the best, but mine was in really good shape, so i cant complain much. it looks better, has a larger cooking area, heats more evenly, heats more quickly, and is easier to clean then my fathers $1400 grille, and mine has the griddle that his lacks.
