Very Good Feeder And Build Is Great.
The feeder is very good. It is a heavy good built feeder. You still have to have a feeder pole with long arms and a pole where animals can not go up. A squirrel will go up the pole and hold on and pull the feeder to him. Racoons the same. The key is a good pole system and i found one in the squirrel stopper(see my other reviews). I really enjoy and have fun now at my bird feeding station. I really like Droll Yankees feeders.

No more squirrel problem
Finally, after trying a number of bird feeders and covers, I found a feeder that actually works.Well, in truth, I've never seen a squirrel being "thrown" off the feeder, but for the first time in years, I haven't seen a squirrel on the feeder itself.So, I guess it must be working!Only complaints are that the tube is not very large, so I am refilling it frequently, and there seems to be a lot of seed falling to the ground (where now the squirrels reside).All in all, I would absolutely recommend the Yankee Flipper to solve your squirrel problem.

The most durable feeder ever made!
I bought this model in a feed mill in rural Sussex County, NJ in the early 1970's, and have used this same EXACT feeder year-round for more than 30 years!

Love this feeder!
I have my feeder on a window in my computer/piano room.While I compute or play, I can watch my birds.They don't even fly away when I move around.I'm ready to order 2 more.

A danger to birds and windows
I was given this as a house warming gift, and it was cute and charming and we did enjoy watching birds coming to feed right outside the window.We had to remove it within a month because: Even the flickers like it
The chickadees discovered the feeder 10 minutes after it was put up. Even a northern red-shafted flicker gave it a try and looked pretty silly in the bargain (the feeder is perfect for finch sized birds).Read more

I love it, THEY love it
The only bad thing I can say about this feeder is that they fight over it! I was skeptical about the design at first, wondering if they could reach the nectar, then I learned that Hummies' tongues are twice as long as their beaks. This feeder has attracted more Hummies than I've ever had at once, it's easy to clean, comes with a little cleaning brush for the feeding ports, looks nice hanging in my tree, has the silver band around the edge that serves as a perch (they really like this feature), and is designed so that you can see them clearly (no big bottle design that obscures the view from the opposite side of the feeder). I'm looking to buy another one to accomodate everyone and put a halt to the bickering!

One of the best hummingbird feeders on the market!
If you want a durable, practical, easy-to-maintain hummingbird feeder, the Droll Yankees LF is a great choice. It's just the right size for most people; 6 ounces of sugar water is enough to feed up to a half dozen birds for 2 to 3 days. This type feeder is virtually leak-proof, even in full sun and brisk winds. Filling is far easier (and less messy) than with bottle-style feeders: just rotate the red part of the cap to line up the filling holes and pour in the solution.
