Message from the Manufacturer
Please remember that unseasoned cast iron needs to be seasoned by the consumer before the first use.It will rust if not properly seasoned.To season the Grill Press, remove the handle by unscrewing the two screws on either end.Rinse with mild soap and water, then thoroughly dry.Rub cooking oil over the entire surface with a clean rag or a paper towel.Place it in an oven preheated to 250 degrees fahrenheit for approximately 2 hours.Handle with care when removing, as the Press will be quite hot.Use a hot pad.Let the Grill Press cool on a heat resistant surface, replace the handle, and then store as usual.Because cast iron is porous, each time you use the Grill Press following the initial seasoning more oil will seep through from foods and enforce the waterproof oil bond.The Grill Press should not be left in water and is not dishwasher safe.Rinse the press under hot water after each use and dry immediately by blotting water droplets with a towel.If directions are properly followed, your Steven Raichlen Cast Iron Grill Press should last for years.

Even after thorough cleaning, leaves a terrible metal taste to the food. I must've washed this 5 or 6 times in my attempt to remove the metal odor. I also noticed some rust colored powder on parts of the surface after washing. Yuck! ... Read more

First use made PERFECT turkey!
I bought this professional grade turkey fryer after returning two others which came with aluminum pots.I insist on a stainless steel pot set after having read about the long term harmful effects of aluminum in the human brain. A word of warning for newbies

It takes a huge amount of oil to deep-fry and it's a shame tothrow it all away afterward. However, you can filter out any foodparticles and reuse oil as long as it's stored properly to avoidspoiling and reheated to a minimum of 350 degrees F for sterilization.Eastman Outdoors' cooking-oil filter pump takes the mess out of thefiltering process as there is no risk of spillage. Shaped like a longwand, the pump is 27-1/2 inches long so it can reach oil at the bottomof the tallest stockpots. Running off of three D batteries, the pumpsiphons leftover oil from your cooking pot into a storage container viaa 26-inch-long plastic tube. A filter within the pump ensures that anybits of food or seasoning that could potentially taint the oil are leftbehind. Husband loves it!
I bought this for my husband last year for his birthday - he loves it!He often uses it to boil shrimp, and he sometimes uses the smaller basket to fry chicken wings.This Thanksgiving he used it to fry a turkey!We haven't experienced any problems with it so far.

I recently purchased this turkey fryer as a birthday gift for my husband. We are all very pleased.We have fried turkey, fish and seafood and were very satisfied.Everything you need is included (except the propane tank). good overall product - some cheap accessories
The big 30-qt pot is a little flimsy and bends and nicks easily so you have to be careful not to bang it up. But the burner works fine and the written instructions are easy enough to follow.

Good Unit, Wish Packing Was Better
The first one of these we received was on time but could have been packed better by the manufacturer.We ended up with a thumbnail-sized hole rubbed through the non-stick coating on the inside of the basket.However, Amazon took it back with no problems and shipped another one without hassle.All we had to do was print out the label, tape the box closed and drop it off at the UPS office. Worth every dollar..crab pot!!
To make a long story short...originally from the east coast, I had missed the taste of steamed crabs..hadn't had crabs for over 15 years since residing now in Illinois...Brother came to visit from Flordia, he insisted on "live Maryland Blue crabs...I didn't own a crab pot, so I went on Amazon and the rest is history!!!! My brother took one look at the pot I ordered from Amazon and hollered from the kitchen...Hey Sis, boy this is a nice pot, where did you get it?...from Amazon I told him, I have to get me one, this pot is nice and much bigger than the one I own.The live crabs came FedX, the pot came FedX (although they offered "free delivery) I needed it quickly).This crab pot allows plenty room for layering and seasoning the crabs and the included rack didn't allow any of the crabs to touch the water...steamed perfectly!!!Thanks

Good stainless a bit thin
For the money this is a great pot.The stainless is high quality but a little thin.I don't mind because I won't use it that often and it's easy to clean.Much easier than aluminum.I priced a restuarant quality ss pot this size at a local supply house and it was twice as much.Great pot for a couple days a year use.

Everything is top quality except the kettle itself. The stainless still is thin and dents easily. It's freakin' chinese made, so you get lesser quality. However, I couldn't find a cheaper pot of similar quality.Read more
