Made of redwood, brass, and etched glass, this feeder uses three copper-colored flowers to attract brilliant hummers. Because the wide base gives the birds plenty of room to land, you can hang the feeder just about anywhere. Filling the feeder is easy: simply flip it over, pop off the base, pour in a sugar solution (directions included), and quickly flip it back. beautifully functional
We have another Schrodt Designs that the hummies just LOVE and fight over-they are quite territorial.This new feeder has offered us many wonderful moments of observing the little creatures.I find that, as with the older piece, the red of the flower feeder parts start to fade or loose their color, I get acrylic paint from the craft mart and just paint the flowers red with a bit of yellow on them, and this helps make a target for the hummingbirds to zero in on to feed.I highly recommend this piece.

Very decorative, but impractical
We've had this feeder in use for about four months, and find it a pretty decoration for the yard, but impractical as a feeder.We added this as a fourth feeder in addition to three plastic and glass "Perky Pet" feeders we've been using for several seasons.
simple, sturdy and beautiful
This is a beautiful and well-constructed feeder.The parts are study and simple.The parts are easy to take apart to clean and to refill.I live in an apartment with a garden in the middle.It took a while for the hummingbirds to find it at first.Now, the youngsters have grown up and are fighting with other birds to feed in it.They can feed in flight as well as rest on the wooden platform.I found one hummingbird resting on the platform staring off into the distance for quite a long time before taking off!One disadvantage:I would recommend getting some sort of weather dome to hook over the top of the feeder to prevent rain from diluting the nectar.Otherwise hang it in a covered area where rain can't get to it.I take it back in in doors from my balcony when it rains. ... Worth the price
Seemed pricey at first but this feeder has been a source of amusement all summer. Small birds feed, play and sleep on it. Often jostling for position. Nice beveled top and routed base. Had a very wet few months but the feeder is holding up well. Squirrels don't even bother trying to get into it (but then they rarely get up the steel hanging plant stand our three feeders are on--lard or crisco mixed with cayenne pepper on the pole stops that after the first attempt)

This is our first bird feeder ever. It is beautiful, made of very nice wood, and without any major trumpeting attracts all the lovely feathered guests in our backyard and keeps the squirrels away. Could I ask for more?

I really love this feeder.It is beautiful to watch and blends into the pine tree in my court yard beautifully.It is simple to refill and clean.I've put millet seeds, safflower seeds and nyger seeds in it.The finches absolutely fight over this feeder.I've attracted so many birds even my neighbors (i live in an apartment area) noticed the activity around her apartment.The feeder is functional, simple, well-built and beautiful.I've truely enjoyed it.I did not have a squirrel problem but I would be weary about hanging this feeder directly on a tree where a squirrel would have access.Some squirrel precautions should probably be taken with this feeder.This size was perfect for my balcony but not so for the birds.They liked it so much that they ate over 2/3 of the tower each day.Luckily, refilling was easy and the spill tends to be minimal.I also really liked the little drain holes at the bottom of the feeder to allow rain water to drain out.My seeds were never wet for too long in the feeder to cause a problem. ... This item is beautiful, but it arrived with one of the glass panels broken.Better packaging would have prevented this from happening.

The item is beautiful, unfortunately the two I received (the original I ordered and the replacement) both had broken glass.I will be looking for a butterfly house elsewhere.

Almost a great buy
This product is beautiful. And even though it was missing the manzanita branch, I have ordered a second one. The missing branch seems to be a problem with other peoples orders also. Is it on purpose so the maker can save some money, who knows? I hope I don't get ripped off with the second one. Now I have to hunt down a branch or two from somewhere else, and pay more money, to someone else, just to complete the product that should have been complete in the first place. ... Read more

Good birdbath
This is a cool item. You assemble it (fairly simple), push it into the ground (very easy in a raised bed, get ready to dig otherwise), turn on the water, and adjust the regulator.Mine did have some initial problems with the regulator but Schrodt sent replacement parts that fixed it.Note that the water level shot out by the mister will vary based on how much water pressure you have from day to day, but it's not that big of a problem.Many of the parts are plastic, but it's probably not that big of a deal.The big deal is that Shrodt is easy to contact and they really support their product.Buy with confidence. keeping our fine feathered friends happy

Birds liked it too well...They destroyed it in a month!
I bought this bird feeder and had to throw it away within a month!The birds in my area liked the holes on the bottom the best and pecked the holes even bigger.Within a month, all the bird feed would just pour out those larger bottom holes and the feeder could hold no feed at all.The wood was beautiful, but too soft to be practical.

Nice looking, but no birds!
This feeder is very pretty and attractive, but for some reason the birds never came to it.We have several feeders in our yard, and the birds are at the feeders all day long.We hung this one up, but the birds never came to it - not even the house sparrows!
