Excellent feeder!
I have had great results with this feeder all summer! The hummers found it immediately and many, many hummers come here to feed.
This Works...But Is Not So Pretty
I just received the feeder this morning and hung it up in my yard.I put sugar water in the globes, and had a hummingbird feed from it within just 2 hours of hanging it up!I was impressed.BUT, this feeder is not as cute as shown in the picture.It is actually big and bulky.Also, the construction is sub-par.Looks kinda cheap and plasticy.

Humming bird mobil
I bought this product for myself a couple of years ago and love it. It's attractive and it does attract "hummers". Liked it so much that I bought one as an anniversary gift. Unfortunately when it arrived, one of the glass feeders was broken. A Fabulous Bird Feeder & A Deal Here At Amazon!
I didn't want a bird feeder this big.I wanted something smaller to hang next to my window feeders. But this was only $35 here at Amazon, and I had a $25 gift certificate, so I couldn't pass it up. I'm glad, too, because it is a wonderful bird feeder. The ports with perches please the house finches and other small birds to no end. And the larger birds, like the doves, can eat out of the bottom ports with no perches. The bottom tray can also be filled with a lot of seed, if desired.
Flip port feeding stations
I bought this feeder because it fed numerous birds at one. That was until the lovely squirrels found it. They chewed off the flip port feed stations and now I can't use the feeder at all

Very Good Feeder And Build Is Great.
The feeder is very good. It is a heavy good built feeder. You still have to have a feeder pole with long arms and a pole where animals can not go up. A squirrel will go up the pole and hold on and pull the feeder to him. Racoons the same. The key is a good pole system and i found one in the squirrel stopper(see my other reviews). I really enjoy and have fun now at my bird feeding station. I really like Droll Yankees feeders.

No more squirrel problem
Finally, after trying a number of bird feeders and covers, I found a feeder that actually works.Well, in truth, I've never seen a squirrel being "thrown" off the feeder, but for the first time in years, I haven't seen a squirrel on the feeder itself.So, I guess it must be working!Only complaints are that the tube is not very large, so I am refilling it frequently, and there seems to be a lot of seed falling to the ground (where now the squirrels reside).All in all, I would absolutely recommend the Yankee Flipper to solve your squirrel problem.

No more bees, no drips, a snap to clean!
I initially bought a classic "perky pet" feeder, with the glass jar draining down into several feeding "flowers."Despite the bee guards, I often saw yellowjackets hovering around it.They squeezed themselves along the underside of the bee guards to get dribbles that leaked out of the flowers.Also, I learned that bees are drawn to yellow (the color of the plastic flowers).I'm sure ants would have found the dribbles before long, as well - there were even splatters on my deck. 3rd try is the charm
After going through a series of hummingbird feeders over the last several years, I have put the other models in the basement and have 2 of these HummZingers up. And here in the NE US in late August I am enjoying "hummingbird wars" outside as 4 or 5 RTHU jockey for time at the feeders.

This is a fine product.It is well engineered as well as manufactured.Holds a lot of seed.I fill it once a day. Squirels have given up trying to get into it.Easy to take apart and goes in the dishwasher. Highly recommended

have owned for 2 months and all of the previous reviews are what we have experienced also.
GOOD BUT NOT SO GOOD
This feeder closes the feed-holes after only 4 oz. of weight is put on it. Considering the smallest finch weighs 1 oz. and there are 5 perches to feed from, this feeder should stay open for at least 5 oz. A cardinal weighs 3 oz, so if 1 finch and 1 cardinal try to feed at the same time, the holes close. I think the feeder should stay open for 7 or 8 oz. to let smaller birds feed freely and still deter heavier bids like pigeons that weigh 9 oz.

For the birds!
Birds like different feed: finches like broad seeds or thistles, depending on what kind of finch. Cardinals love sunflowers, goldfinches like thistles. The triple tube lets you lay on the type of seed to attract many sorts of birds, and the copper squirrel baffle is attractive. I love tube feeders and this lets me put up a buffet for our feathered friends.

flimsy construction
* I would not recommend this bird feeder. The tubes that hold the food are fragile and the clips that hold the bottom tray to the feeding tubes are weak. I broke one of them the first time I removed the tray to clean the feed tubes.

More cons than pros for me

Perfect except for one HUGE problem . . .
Over the last eleven years I have purchased this item on three different occasions. Nonetheless, I will not buy it this time. Though the feeder's capacity it excellent, cleaning it is absolutely impossible.
The best ever
I've tried many different hummingbird feeders in the past but none come close to this one.The little birds love it !!!Apparently it's ergonomics are compatible with their feeding habits and position.This morning I was counting the amount of birds at the feeder at once, and it was over twenty !!! I have a secondary feeder with a flat feeding platform, and it had only two birds visiting.
How to Clean a Feeder

worked for awhile
Well, it seemed to work for a few months. Then the plastic inserts began to fall out and the seed won't stay in. I cut some plastic replacements from a milk jug and these worked for a month or so, but more of the originals keep falling out. Three are gone, and the feeder is not a year old yet. My feeder hangs under the house overhang and so is not rained on; no problems with the spring, though the "stop" that keeps the cage from going too far down fell out fairly soon (I just put a piece of wire in its place).Grackle can feed at this feeder well.Larger birds such as blue jays and a large woodpecker will occasionally hang onto it in some way, but they don't persist. Purple finch and gold finch like it; I get some cardinals even (with black oil sunflower).

Good feeder
Our feeder has held up well even with squirrels try to get past the metal leaves that cover the feed holes when they try to get the feed.The plastic inserts that block the feed from falling out need to be glued after a year because the larger birds will peck at the plastic (or the squirrels?) and break them out.

Pesky squirrels have ruined it
This birdfeeder looks very nice and is extremely attractive to hang in your yard. However, I have had trouble with some very adamant squirrels about eating the birdseed. I had even put out a squirrel feeder away from the bird feeder, but they kept coming back and once they jumped on this birdfeeder, the spring attached outer grid pulled down and stayed down and the little metal attachements that held it up broke off. I bought 3 of these feeders and all three were broken within the first week of being hung outside. They were hung off greased poles over 6 feet off the ground. One of the feeders came detached from the top and crashed to the ground when a squirrel jumped on it. Maybe my squirrels are just oversized (hardly, they are little and ratty) and extremely rough, but these feeders just weren't worth what I paid for them. Wasteful
Because there is no raised edge on the feeding tray, cupsful of seeds get spilled onto the ground. We have no squirrels to glean the spills but perhaps are attracting rats.
Not completely squirrel-proof
I made sure to place it away from trees and platforms from which squirrels can jump from.I placed it near a small apple tree with branches that droop from too much weight.I have two gray squirrels and two red squirrels.I saw one gray squirrel put two feet on the feeding bar and the other two feet on the feeding station.It was able to feed for a long time.I haven't seen any other squirrels do it again.I don't know how the squirrel got there.I used a metal bird feeder pole, so the squirrel didn't climb.Overall I really like the feeder.It holds so much seed that I don't have to fill it too often.I have cardinals, chickadees, blue jays, downy woodpecker, hairy woodpecker, tufted titmouse, and various sparrows and finches.

I gave my dad an amazon gift certificate for father's day...he bought this bird feeder, paying extra because he wanted the squirrel proof guarantee - what an incredible rip off. Mother-in-law birthday gift

Basic feeder -- but working great!!
I bought this feeder about a week ago after spotting a hummingbird in my backyard.It looks great in the yard and I love the detail in the hanger.(It's nothing fancy, but it is sweet.)I used the clear hummingbird formula and hung it in an area that didn't get a lot of people traffic, but was in clear view.

Good Feeder... But Squirrel Proof???Don't Think So.
We are looking for another feeder, so when I got to this page I thought I would tell you why this is the one we're going to purchase.
Best feeder I have ever used
This is as close as you'll ever get to squirrel-proof.Once in awhile, they get smart enough to hang from the top and grab one seed at a time, but seed loss is minimal as they eventually tire of this strategy.Since the birds usually spill plenty of seed on the ground, foraging at the base of the feeder becomes the preferred method for the critters. I have tried MANY feeders and this is the only one that works.

Not Quite Squirrel Proof
While a more effective deterrant than most feeders, the squirrels still win. We found that the squirrels would leap onto the feeder from a nearby fence and then open and shut the pressure sensitive pannels, causing seeds to spill out. Moving the feeder away from the fence caused them to just climb the pole and no squirrel baffle ever really works.

Not a bad option
We've had this feeder for a year and have had good success attracting hummingbirds with it. The bright red color apparently does a good job luring them to our window. It's a little inconvenient to clean but I don't mind because my wife does it.
Simple design makes for the best feeder
I have been very pleased with this feeder.It took the hummers 2 days to discover it and now the birch tree where I hung it is literally the neighborhood "hummingbird hangout."I have even seen hummingbirds hovering in line to use it like airplanes waiting to land on the runway.I'm thinking of getting a 2nd one just to handle the demand now.You won't be disappointed with this purchase if your goal is to feed the hummers, not add a backyard ornament.Also, enjoy my customer images!

A great hummer feeder at at great price
I've been using this exact feeder for years. I like it in particular because it has perches that the hummers really seem to like. I had accidentally bought the same feeder without perches and I didn't get as many hummers until I got this one. The glass bottle seems to keep the nectar fresher longer too.

Pretty to look at, lightweight, and functional
It is very pretty and my daughter loves holding the little birdie. It is also nice because it looks heavy, but is actually light. It is made of metal with some kind of faux stone finish that looks good in the garden. BUT if you have hard water like I do, don't use it for a bird bath. I bought this model in a feed mill in rural Sussex County, NJ in the early 1970's, and have used this same EXACT feeder year-round for more than 30 years!

Wonderful Hummingbird Feeder
I really love this feeder, it is so easy to clean.I have been using the bottle type for years and laboring to clean them free of mold and yuck.It took about 3 days before the Hummers finally used it and not the others in my yard, I have 4 quart sized feeders.I will definately replace them with this type as they break.

Overpriced sugar, don't bother
This product is colored sugar and is overpriced.Just mix 1 part white sugar and 4 parts water, boil for a few minutes.It costs 10 times less and is healthier for the birds.THEY DO NOT need red color in their nectar.I have six feeders on my yard and I attract dozens of birds with just sugar water.

I have 5 hummingbird feeders around my home, three on the back deck.In one feeder I put homemade sugar solution, in the other 2 I used the Instant Nectar.The only thing the Nectar attracted was ants.The hummingbirds consumed the sugar solution readily, so much so I had to refill the containers multiple times over the season, and left the Nectar untouched. waste of money
i love the perky pet feeders, they're my faves, but the nectar is a waste. i can mix 25% sugar to 75% water and get a cheaper, easier mix, without additives. do it yourself--cheaper and better for the birds. ... Read more
