Can you say "RELAX"
This chair was easy to put together, it took maybe all of 10 minutes from out of the box, till total relaxation. You can sit in it or stretch the net out with your feet to it's full length and recline. I had to get two so my husband would quit taking mine. I would recommend this product.

This chair rocks!
Just got done setting it up on my apartment balcony and it is great! Already told one of my neighbors about it. Setup was VERY easy, 5 minutes. Yes it is heavy, but with the free shipping, dont worry. That weight is the metal spars, and they are very sturdy. I hope they sell a replacement hammock, as the frame looks like it will last years. It is very comfortable, I almost fell alseep in it while testing it out after setup! My only gripe is that the part where you put your head is a bit to upright for me, I was hoping for a more reclined position, but scootching around in it make it better. The hammock itself is cotton, very comfortable and sturdy, I just hope when it rains that it doesn't shrink weird. I paid 120, so at 90....get it! The most comfortable hammock I have ever been in. No bull.

Great smaller hammock!
It's comfortable, and takes up less space! We even fit it in our gazebo! I never thought my husband would sit in it, but alas, he is the one that uses it most frequently. You can sit or lie down on it. It is very strong, and so easy to put together. I actually got it up in less than 10 minutes, maybe 5. And I am not mechanical! The only complaint I have is that my head is not that comfortable when lying down. A pillow would probably help. ... Read more

Better than ever
Having had Pawleys Island Hammocks before, I was glad to see the addition of the Dura Cord product line. I was a little apprehensive about the "feel" of the new material, but it is actually nicer than the old cotton one, and looks beautiful.Average lifetime of the cotton was about 4 years for us when left out all the time, so we will see about this one, but I trust the brand, so assume it will bebetter. ... Great product for an even better price

Two hammocks - both returns!
I ordered this hammock. Very disappointed.
Chinese on Pawleys Island?
The ad, the box, the internet site all tout the merits of this item engineered in South Carolina. When the box was opened, the tiny tag dangling from the weave states "Mfg in China." Too bad! The hammock is the same price as the last two I've purchased, and still is of good quality, but I'll think long and hard before purchasing another. Hey, I might even take up hammock weaving as a hobby.

Comfortable and Roomy Hammock
This is a very comfortable hammock and I find myself falling asleep in it quite easily! I'm 6'1" and find it quite roomy, even if I add a second person. This is one of the few hammocks where someone of my height can comfortably fit without having their head hit the wooden support bar. I'm using the hardware that came with it to mount it on my frame and I've found there's plenty of leeway and adjustments that come with this hammock's chains. I'm not sure why people are slamming this hammock for not coming with a stand, as hammock and stand are ALWAYS sold separately and nowhere does the description state that it comes with a stand. Okay for now
Order was shipped very quickly.I will keep Item. Advertised hanging hardware and swivel not included. Chair could easily fray, cotten ends are only taped, not knotted. No way chair could be converted to 7 foot hammock as advertised. I should have read advertisement closer. I could have gotten 100% cotten chair for less. This ad didn't state the material used.

Two days after buying this swing i found just the exact thing I was looking for and contacted Don, the seller, about a refund. Even though it was a Sunday, he got right back to me and said he'd make every effort to cancel the order, even though it ships direct from his supplier. He kept me informed every step of the way while he did what he could to cancel. By Tuesday, I got word that the order had been cancelled and that a full refund had been given. Perfect
Having no trees in my back yard, I needed a solution as to where to put a hammock.The way I saw it, I had two solutions: Plant 2 trees at an appropriate distance and wait 30 years, or drop $110 on this thing.I didn't feel like waiting that long so I ordered the stand.I got this yesterday and it is insanely heavy.I had a hard time moving it from where the UPS guy dumped it on my porch to my back yard.I opened the box and the whole thing snapped together in about 2 minutes.It's very sturdy and well made.I just wish that I had gotten the wheels to go with it as it is going to be a pain to move when the lawn needs mowing. ... Clever design, well made.
It's designed in Germany and mfgd in China. I'd say DEFINITELY locate and purchase the extension kit. I did. I have a large Guatemalan hammock that I've owned for years that's barely seen any use -- usually on camping trips. It finally occured to me to research and secure a hammock stand, and it's really delightful to be able to laze in the hammock in the shade of the house on summer afternoons. I wish I'd bought one of these years ago!

Cheap Price, Cheap Quality
I bought this hammock in Feb' 05 during a sale at amazon. (~$52)Overall I thought the hammock was ok at first, though it stretched a great deal.I bought the stand that goes with it, and even on the highest chain link, it sits very low once you get in.I'm not a huge guy, but I DEFINATELY would not put two people in it.Now it is 10 months down the road, and the hammock frayed and snapped.I used it frequently in the beginning, but only a handful of times the last 5 monthes.The only good thing about it hanging low, was that my fall was only a foot, instead of a few feet.Any idea if there is a warranty?

2nd hammock
I had first bought a hammock almost exactly like this one except it came with 2 hooks with wood-screw ends and 2 chains. It came from the "O" for over $80 over a year ago. After children excessively swinging on it consistently, the ropes had been naturally sawed off by the wood supports where the holes were made for rope access. When it had to be replaced, I chose this one. It was almost identical to the last, but did not come with the extra hardware, hammock only, but only cost $50 (w/ super saver shipping w/ i truely appreciate). this time I tightened up the knots before use, which I recommend to the buyer. ...
