Don't waste your money!
Ned is exactly right! I tried my new smoker with the same results. I have thought about buying the electric conversion or trying the rack on sale as an accessory in the bottom of the charcoal pan.There needs to be a way of getting rid of the ash so the charcoal can breath. The new charcoal pans are not expensive at Academy so I may drill the holes.

Amazon had this grill to us within 3 days!It was to be a Father's Day present and definitely arrived in time.The only disappointments were that the unwrapped racks scared up the interior of the grill during delivery and(2)exterior utility racks were missing from the box. Ducane promptly mailed them to us.There were also a few nicks around the edge of the grill lid. The offer of a free cover for the grill during my purchase was a BIG plus!My husband is extremely delighted with the grill and it's performance! We would definitely recommend others to make this purchase! Great value for a superb grill!

Instructions weak
Our grill finally arrived yesterday (Ordered July 13) and took a little over 2 hours for us to assemble. The instructions are not always clear and pictures not big enough to see the parts. We did get it together with the exact number of fasteners provided. Hooked it up to natural gas after testing the igniter and cleaning everything. Used a vacuum inside to pick up loose metal shavings. We did have a little trouble getting the grill to light. Instructions call for pressing the igniter for 3-4 seconds. It is rare that this achieves ignition. I called Grand Hall and asked about this problem and they seemed to be stumped. We had followed the instructions to the letter with negative results. Anyway, we did continue to mess with the grill and finally got it to light. Once 1 burner is going, you can start the adjacent burner just by turning it's gas knob. There is a backup starting procedure using a paper match through a hole in the grill's side. Hopefully this will not be necessary too often.
great natural gas grill
This grill is very good quality, and is so simple to assemble that my 14 year old daughter put it together. It is better than what we saw at popular home improvement stores. We also like the fact that for the money it was a very good buy. We have used it several times the meat cooks evenly, no more cooking the meat first and then throwing it on the grill!

Wrong Size Bolts For Assembly
For those fixing to buy this grill: I found upon assembly that there is a problem in using the 1/4" x 20x 1" SS(Stainless Steel) bolts that are furnished.Throw these away and go to your nearest Ace Hardware and buy 1/4" x 20 x 3/4" SS bolts instead.The ones furnished are a cheap grade and too long.I broke two on assembly myself.Called Weber and informed them of the problem, just waiting now to see if someone from the engineering department calls me back.This is the only complaint I have about this grill, it's ABSOLUTELY PERFECT ON EVERYTHING ELSE !!!!!!!I'll rate it with 5 stars, shipping and the price were unbelieveable too. ... Long winded praise
Cooks Illustrated rated this grill with several others at the Consumer Reports lab and decided that the Weber Genesis Silver A was the best grill for the buck, and if you can afford the extra money, the Silver B is even better with its bigger grill and additional burner element. I bought the Silver B natural gas and have been a happy griller since.
Decent product.
Good value.I had previously owned a built in "Turbo" grill from Barbeques galore, which I think had better technology with ceramic coals, diffusers, and was a lot more powerful.However the Weber grill is a much simpler design and cheaper to maintain.Although they say that the stainless steel grill surface will last years, I haven't found that to be the case. I usually replace mine every year or two.The good news is that the Weber replacement is not that expensive, compared to the "Turbo" grill replacement grill surface which cost over $200 for comparison.

Not Perfect But a Good Grill
Overall, the grill arrived timely in good condition.The instruction manual was not clear and sorting out the many pieces was not fun.One of the holes in the body of the grill was drilled with the incorrect spacing to attach the bracket.However, Ducane's customer service was great when I called with the problems, and they had offered to replace any missing or damaged parts.The Smoke-It tray is a bit small and watch out for the flare ups when the cover is closed.

I would NEVER order Ducane again!
Let me 1st say that Amazon delivered and then pick-up this item as agreed. The Ducane Bar-B-Que arrived in horid condition. The box looked like it was dropped from 10ft. The rotisserie rod was bent in a curve. There was paint dripping and bubbling on a one of the parts and the paint was competely chipped on the inside rim of the Bar-B-Que. For over $700 you would think that the parts would be inspected carefuly before packing and shipping.I would not recommend purchasing this item.

I was surprised--and pleased--to get this grill from Amazon.com.I had done some research on the web, and I knew what I wanted.Amazon had the best price and delivery was quick.The grill does come in a million pieces, though, and one of them had to be redrilled.One screw was missing, too.If you are pretty handy mechanically, this is only a minor irritation.If not...well, you be the judge.Once it's all assembled, this is a great grill at a great price. ...
