It will not hold a large amount of items, but will hold many small items, for example, you could fit a 50 ft. hose, watering can and a couple chair pads, and some rope. Sturdy and well-designed.
This product really has some excellent attention to detail. The storage area under the lift-up seat is perfect for gloves, scarves, etc. If you click on the photo to see the larger view, you can see how the seat itself has these little indentations which keep you from sliding off if your pants are wet (think of kids coming in after playing in the snow or rain). And the water will go into those little indentations (instead of rolling off onto the floor) and the water will either evaporate from there if you leave it or you can easily soak it up with a towel. The bottom area has these raised slats for the shoes and boots to sit on as well as a cutout in the back - allowing for them to properly air dry when wet. The material this is made out of is virtually indestructible and will easily withstand the elements even if you want to leave it outside on a porch or deck. The size is just right - not too big or too small. We loved it so much we ended up buying another so there'd be one by each of the most used entrances into the house.

Sturdy Little Product!!!
I am satisfied with the bench.It is sturdy and the storage compartment is roomy.The only improvement which I hope could be made is the addition of another "shelf" to fit three more pair of shoes.

Exactly what i was looking for
this really opens up a smaller deck as it only takes a few inches of the surface.nothing but compliments for an hours work (6 brackets). very well done, some screws were a little tough to get in, but overall an easy install.the sportsmans guide shipped very fast with no problems.
Sturdier than I thought.
I was a bit apprehensive about buying these brackets and thought that the method of anchoring them to the deck would result in a bench that would flex when I pushed back on it.I was wrong and the bench is much sturdier than I thought it would be.

Help with Dimension
Does anyone know the exact dimensions of this product?One part of the description says it's 17" tall, 15" wide, and 50"?? long? Another part says 18" tall, 19" wide.Please help.Also, about how curved is it? Looks gray not red granite, but am pleased with the purchase. Easy to assemble, we filled it sand for stability. It looks nice with the landscaping as seating in front of 2 inground ponds.

wonderful product
Since I live where it is hot wood does not last but this product is wonderful, remind me of when I was growing up.
Pleasantly surprised
When I ordered this glider, (because of its low price), I thought that it would be just OK. When received (only two days later), and put together it was quite comfortable. I have a resin rocker which is too big. (My feet don't touch enough to push. I like the glider, my feet actually are in contact with the ground!) The instructions said that 2 people were needed to assemble. My husband had it together in 30 minutes. The puttyis a nice, neutral color. Very nice!

Cheap storage bench
Thisstorage bench was fairly easy to put togther. We got 3 years out of it before...it just started to fall apart. The sides are just stapled together. When you try to put it back together the wood splits. The hydraulic piece, that is connected to the lid and the left side panel, blew the whole side out. There's no way to secure it without splitting all the other pieces.
Cedar Storage Bench
Good size for storing misc. gardening supplies & large bags of birdseed.Relatively easy to assemble.All parts were included. It will need a coating that will repel sunrays, so it will keep it's color & not age to grey. Nice product for the money.

I read the other reviews before I ordered this storage bench, and figured I'd risk it.I had no problems connecting the backs and sides (the holes all appeared to be properly drilled, and the bolts& connecting devices all worked.Then I tried to attach the lid.I attached the hinges to the lid, then attempted to attach the lid to the body.Uh oh, here I've run into the same problem as most of the other reviewers --- the pre-drilled screw holes for one of the hinges were off by at least half an inch.Now I'll have to drill new pilot holes.What a hassle.If this works, the bench will be acceptable.If not, what a pain. ... Good for me.What I wanted.Worth the price.
I had just one screw comming thru the seat.No problem. I just backed it out a little.I glued all the slats, tightened all the screws, glued all the joints, chamfered the legs, installed spacer-feet to keep the legs dry, and wiped it down with 50-50 turps and linsead oil.Now it will last forever and it is a part of me.I like the natural and varied wood colors.After all, this in an outdoor bench... think casual and earthy.

Functional but not pretty
I used TREXinstead of wood to make my bench.Worked well by drilling a few holes where there weren't any and that was no big deal.I did try the Krylon plastic paint on the subassembly to give it a more pleasing color and while it did cover, the adhesion was not very durable.

Makes a great bench and table combo
Easy to follow instructions.Just add 9 ea. 2*4's.We made ours from 6' PT lumber.Two benches can be converted to a picnic table for added space when needed.I would not make this any longer than 6', even though the instructions indicate you can.Much beyond 6', you'd get a bow when average weight people sit.Even at 6', we had to add a stabilizer on the underside of the seat portion to give added strength to the 2*4's.One other caveat - be careful where your hands are located when lifting this.We assembled it on a table and then had to lift it to the ground.In the "bench" position, the back does not lock and can easily flip up and pinch fingers - as we now know from experience.It is, however, a nice project and gives versatility when entertaining.I'd have rated it a "5" if the back locked in place. ...
