This smoker works great. I've smoked chicken, potatoes, homemade pastrami(yum) and even some cheap salami lunchmeat. It really adds wonderful flavor to anything and is so easy to do. Clean up isn't the easiest but is still worth it. I give it an A+.

Life-changing cooking utensil
So after renovating my kitchen to15k btu burners and a 1200cfm hood I thought that was the best I could do. But after attempting to cook just one wok-based meal I realized 1) Although the hood could keep up, there was still lots of area clean-up to do, and 2) I wasn't getting anywhere near the power of a commercial kitchen wok setup.

65,000 BTU -- Loud, hot, powerful enough to cook as many French fries as you can cut -- all at once, and keep the oil at 375 degrees effortlessly.The best fried fish you've ever had, cooked in about 2 minutes.Fried calamari in about 30 seconds.Probably the best $49.95 purchase you could make for the kitchen.(Okay, the warning says to use it outdoors, and to have a fire extinguisher handy.)Cook with a wok the way it was meant to cook -- get the peanut oil smoking in about 20 seconds.A bit of a pain to store, and the flame control is rather crude, but man this thing is one hot burner.Burner ring is reversible to hold woks with the concave ring and a big flat pot (for deep-frying a turkey) with the other side.

I have long been skeptical of "deep frying" at home.The smell, the mess, the smell...Anyway, I recently decided to throw a fish fry and decided it was time to invest in a fryer.The biggest issue for me in purchasing a fryer was the sturdiness of the burner stand.Besides having the ability to heat 12 quarts of oil, I also wanted a burner stand that would hold the weight of 20 quarts of beer for my homebrewing.I decided on the Bayou Classic.

This may be a great cooker, and I've heard of how great turkeys and chickens taste cooked this way.I have also heard of these units splashing hot oil onto people and animals.I didn't even open the box I just returned it.Sorry I couldn't make comments on this unit, but I'm sure used correctly it will do very well, I do not need this type of cooking, it's not worth it.

Good, but not so heat resistant
These gloves are good because they cover the whole hand and wrist, allow for good manual dexterity, and stand up well to abuse.
Wonderful cooking gloves - would be even better with hanging loops
I love these thick, high quality gloves.I use them for the grill and in the kitchen.They protect my hands from heat really well.Also, we have a gas stove and we've burned many regular cotton oven mitts.These gloves seem flame resistant and have not been burned at all - which is why we purchased these.

I Wouldn't Call this "Gourmet"!
I don't know how the Eastman Company can claim that this injector is "gourmet"!They are just plain wrong.There is nothing "gourmet" about it.I bought one and maybe it could be called semi-epicurean but definitely NOT "gourmet".If you want something truly "gourmet" then I suggest getting the Basting Gun with Injector by Gourmac (Division of Hutzler Mfg. Carbon steel like cast iron does need to be seasoned. But once it's done it's very non-stick.
No You Don't Clean With Soap & Water
I guess I should of gotten the stainless steel wok.It's really a lot of work to clean off the protective coating it comes with & then seasoning the carbon steel wok is really taking a long time.We haven't cooked with it yet.I just wanted to comment it's a real chore to clean and season this thing.You do NOT clean it with soap after it's seasoned, just hot water and a scratcher that has no soap and burn it dry.Just like a cast iron skillet.I'm sure after we get done we'll love it. ... I purchased one of these cookers at a grocery store for thankgiving.I didn't find out that amazon carried this brand until I went to the manufarturers website looking for the 10.5 quart fish cooker.I haven't deep fried a turkey and probably won't.My main use will be cooking brunswick stew and chili in large quantities for freezing and cooking fish and chicken wings.I'm considering getting a wok.
